Oprah Unveils Home Makeover
The queen of talk (Oprah Winfrey) has influenced the lives of so many and found inspirations of her own along the way in the form of home items. In the March 2013 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, Winfrey opens up the doors to her home before she gives it a complete makeover.
“What you find beautiful has a lot to do with where you’ve been and what you’ve seen,” notes Oprah. Seeking an abode that reflects her own style instead of the pristine, picturesque house everyone expects. What will her new renovation look like or reveal about her style? While we don’t know how the new design will look (she’s starting with a clean palette and getting rid of everything), we can take a look at what she’s working with now.
If color is an indicator of one’s emotions the lady O must be experiencing happiness as warm colors like yellow are evident throughout the estate (also happens to be a color of intelligence which goes hand-in-hand with this mogul).
Grandeur and eloquence are words that come to mind when viewing the remainder of the house as there are luxe furnishings and elite fixtures. There is almost a “look, but don’t touch” quality in many of the social areas in the home that may not allow people to open up and relax. “This is a very grand space, but I don’t want to live in a grand space anymore,” Oprah reveals about her dining room. “I want people to feel free to ask for seconds!”
All in all, it seems like Ms. O wants to let her hair down in her home and party ways from now dated trends (love gingham, but the matching sofa and wallpaper must go). Will she reflect a modern style or incorporate or livable elegance that welcomes luxe antiques and furnishings?
Time will tell. In the meantime, click here to learn more about Oprah’s plans to change her current home.
